i was told today by someone who studied the sociology of marriage and family, that the top four characteristics/traits of unmarried and uncoupled women are that they are:
1) self-sufficienct/independent
2) educated
3) beautiful
4) intelligent
the more of the traits you have, the lesser the likelihood! others include:
being non-hispanic, white
being employed
having better physical and mental health than single men or married women
and a greater openess to new experiences
so, while i never really dreamed of getting married, i guess my chances are low of coupling too. and it would seem that the characteristics that are often most attractive, are also the characteristics of those who don't partner. this is a distressing little irony, don't you think?

Geeze, there goes the gene pool. But then again, maybe a mutant race of smart self suffient attractive people will develop. Maybe??
oh, sweet NWO, don't hold your breath. those people are unicorns as far as i'm concerned. mythical creatures that only every so often grace us with thier presence before others manage to annoy the crap out of them and they run away again. sure, there are some that can tolerate mere mortals, but those usually get turned, beaten down and partner with assholes that rape them on dates and force them to become less of who they are.
